Dressmaker on Mac
I read the macOS minimum block on Steam and the notarization paragraph on the itch.io prototype page. They describe two different Mac files. Mixing them up is how people end up with a Gatekeeper scare on a build they did not buy.
| Item | Minimum |
|---|---|
| Chip | Apple M1 |
| Memory | 8 GB RAM |
| Disk | 1 GB free |
Steam sells a native macOS build next to the Windows build. Intel Mac support is not stated. I am not going to guess that an Intel machine can run it.
The malicious software warning
That warning is documented for the itch.io prototype, which the page says is not notarized. The steps printed there are System Settings, Privacy & Security, Open Anyway, then Open. The Steam copy is a store download, not that zip.

Questions people ask
Can you play Dressmaker on a MacBook Air?
Steam lists Apple M1, 8 GB RAM, and 1 GB of available space as its minimum. A specific MacBook Air model or an Intel Mac is not listed.
Why does macOS say the game is malware?
The prototype developer says that zip is not notarized. That is not evidence of malware, nor a statement about the Steam build.
